We were deeply saddened and shocked to learn of artist Moira Brady Averill’s passing yesterday. Moira was a favourite of Fringe’s – creating the wonderfully unforgettable performances Flemish Proverbs (2015) and Very Rich Hours (2016). Her work with the collective Change of Address created collaborations between refugees and Irish artists. She was a shining light in the Dublin independent arts scene. We loved her for her craft, her creativity, her sharp, off-kilter, oddball humour, her sense of justice and her true love of the arts. We were happy to count her as a member of Fringe’s community and we’ll miss her terribly. Our thoughts and condolences go out to her family, friends, collaborators, peers and fans.
