FRINGE LAB, a resource that provides year-round practical and artistic support, celebrates its sixth year in 2018. Our two studio spaces and writer's room the CELL are used by hundreds of makers every year.
This year, we decided to ask artists what they really need. We wanted to listen to them, shake things up and mould our resources to suit their needs. We spoke to lots of individual artists about a sense of community and how best to achieve that. The result is an exciting new initiative: FRINGE LAB Hot Deskers!
We're welcoming a whole host of new artists to Fringe HQ: actor and writer Clare Monnelly, comedian and writer Davey Reilly, actor and writer Margaret Mc Auliffe, actor and writer Noelle Brown and Sickle Moon Productions (Jeda de Brí & Finbarr Doyle).
Clare Monnelly has worked extensively in theatre and on screen. She was nominated for an Irish Times Theatre Award for her performance in Livin Dred's Bailegangaire. In 2017 she wrote and performed her debut play Charlie's a Clepto in Axis Ballymun and on tour, and was subsequently awarded the Jim McNaughton Tilestyle Bursary for Commissioned Artists.
Davey Reilly has performed at every Irish festival, and around the world, having sold out shows in London, Edinburgh, and New York. He is also one half of the team currently running and hosting The Comedy Cellar, the longest running comedy club in Ireland.

Her writing credits include The Humours of Bandon which she produced and performed for the Show in a Bag initiative at the Dublin Fringe Festival 2016. Fishamble has since presented her play nationally and internationally for over 100 performances. Margaret won the 2016 ZeBBie award for Best Theatre Script, was a recipient of the Pavilion Theatre’s Patron Artists’ Bursary 2017 and has been selected to participate in Fishamble's A Play for Ireland initiative.
Noelle Brown has worked extensively in theatre, film, television and radio. Her work includes POSTSCRIPT, co-written with Michèle Forbes, which premiered at Dublin Fringe Festival 2013 and Foxy at Project Arts Centre. She is one of 30 playwrights chosen for the shortlist of Fishamble's Play for Ireland initiative.
Sickle Moon Productions was founded in 2012 and comprises of Artistic Director Jeda de Brí and actor/writer Finbarr Doyle, working alongside many collaborators. Jeda de Brí is a director and writer whose directorial credits include TRYST (Dublin Fringe Festival 2016). Finbarr Doyle's writing credits include TRYST and short film Chimneys.
