Workshop: Lucy McCormick: Three Easy Steps to Becoming A Triple Threat
Date: 21 September
Time: 14:00 – 17:00
Tickets: €20 (or €15 for Dance Ireland members)

Self-confessed triple threat artist Lucy McCormick makes club installations, cabaret interventions and extravaganza theatre shows. GO-GO DANCING AGAINST THE PATRIARCHY will give participants an insight into Lucy's performance-making practice via research, writing, devising, choreography and karaoke.  Interests in pop iconography, image culture and mass consumption will make way for experimentations in mess, destruction and despair. The workshop will include heavy elements of dance and song, although no prior experience is necessary – amateurism is welcomed!

About Lucy McCormick
Lucy’s show Triple Threat took the Edinburgh Fringe by storm and had a sell-out run at the Soho Theatre in March and April of 2017. In it, post-popular prodigy Lucy and her Girl Squad present a provocative, subversive cabaret retelling of the greatest story of all time.

Lucy was nominated for Emerging Artist at the Total Theatre Awards and was the winner of the TV Bomb Groundbreaker Award. She is a 2017 Artist in Residence for the Royal Vauxhall Tavern’s Duckie nights and a Research Fellow in the Department of English Drama at Queen Mary University London.

“One of the most extraordinary and extreme performers on the Fringe.” The Scotsman

“Lucy McCormick makes her solo debut with what is either the best or the worst show at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe – or probably more accurately, both at the same time.” Time Out
